The Board of Directors of the Rural Damascus Chamber of Commerce held its ninth regular session on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, chaired by Dr. Abdul Rahim Ziyada, President of the Chamber, in the presence of the Board members:

Dr. Imad Adnan Al-Nan, Fadi Al-Hammadi, Samir Amouri, Mahmoud Al-Hajj Hammoud, Mohammed Imad Mawlawi, Firas Shammass, Mohammed Abdel Aal, Mahmoud Arnous, Anwar Al-Sheikh Qweider, Thaer Al-Zein, Mashhour Taleb, and Ms. Ruba Abboud.

During the meeting, several financial and organizational matters were discussed. The Board approved the launch of the final phase of the strategic modernization project following the completion of the second phase by the expert Mr. Mohammed Radwan Al-Murabit, which focused on drafting Vision 2040. A date was set for the public policy workshop to ensure the success of the development process.

The Board also restructured some of the approved specialized committees in accordance with Law No. 8 of 2020. It approved the leasing of Al-Nabek wedding hall to generate economic returns and discussed converting Al-Nobalaa Hall in Yabroud into a commercial center serving the Qalamoun region.

On the financial side, it was decided to settle the Chamber’s subscriptions to Arab and Syrian chamber federations, reaffirming its institutional role in strengthening Arab and national cooperation. The concerned parties were also assigned to produce a promotional video highlighting the Chamber’s activities and investment opportunities in Rural Damascus.

The Board further approved an initiative proposed by Mr. Mohammed Abdel Aal, Board Member, aimed at improving the business environment and reducing burdens on traders.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to organize a Ramadan Market in cooperation with the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry to provide food and essential goods at reduced and competitive prices. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on citizens and ensure the availability of essential goods during the holy month, directly from producers to consumers.

This meeting comes as part of the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to develop its services in line with the needs of traders and to contribute to improving the economic environment in Rural Damascus.
