As part of efforts aimed at supporting the commercial sector and reducing the challenges it faces, the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Commerce received Assas Innovation Contracting Company within the framework of the “Reducing the Burdens on Traders” initiative, proposed by Mr. Mohammed Abdul Aal, board member of the Chamber and head of the Public Relations and Media Committee.

The visit took place in the presence of Dr. Abdul Rahim Ziyada, President of the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Commerce, where emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening cooperation between the commercial and service sectors in a way that supports the business environment and stimulates economic activity.

During the meeting, Dr. Abdul Rahim Ziyada affirmed the Chamber’s commitment to adopting impactful initiatives that help ease the burdens on traders, stressing that this initiative represents a practical step toward finding realistic solutions to the daily challenges they face, especially under the current economic conditions.

He also noted that the Chamber prioritizes supporting traders and facilitating their work by opening effective channels of communication with various entities and companies, and by launching initiatives that contribute to improving and stabilizing the business environment.

For his part, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Aal explained that the “Reducing the Burdens on Traders” initiative responds to market needs and aims to provide facilitations and services that reduce operational costs for traders, positively reflecting on market activity and sustainability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Assas Innovation Contracting Company was requested to prepare and submit comprehensive technical proposals to be later presented to the General Assembly members of the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Commerce, allowing for the evaluation of suggestions and the selection of what best meets traders’ needs and achieves the initiative’s objectives.

This visit comes within the context of strengthening partnerships between the Chamber of Commerce and the private sector, supporting economic development, and enhancing traders’ ability to face challenges and achieve growth.
